EDUCATIONAL HEALTH AND LIFE-LONG LEARNING

EDUCATION IS THE FOUNDATION UPON WHICH OUR FUTURE RESTS

In the 21st Century education does not end after high school, junior college, a university or even with a post-graduate degree. In today’s world education and learning is a life-long process.

The Healthy City recognizes this fact with educational support and linkages at several levels.

At the local level, we have a long history of working to support and strengthen the Emery Unified School District (EUSD), both through direct support and through supporting the Emery Ed Fund, a separate organization from the Chamber of Commerce which raises money for a variety of Emery school programs, including college scholarships for Emery seniors.

But the Healthy City Initiative’s support for education extends beyond our local school District. We have developed strong connections and linkages with some of the very best educational institutions in the East Bay, including U.C. Berkeley; Cal State East Bay, and Berkeley City College. Private educational institutions, such as Western Career College and the award-winning Ex’pression College for Digital Arts – recognized as one of the premier institutions of its kind in North America – are also Chamber members and key contributors to the concept of life-long learning.

The bottom line is: Education is for everyone, and the need to learn and continually improve in our digital, ever-changing world is constant.

The links in this site contain information on a variety of educational institutions and resources throughout the East Bay.
